Gary, I'm painfully aware of what you are going through, just having had a similiar experience during hip joint replacement surgery in July. Hydration is paramount to offset the effects of the narcotic medications and the laxitives. We hope you recover quickly.
Ijust found out that you had your surgery.
Mike E. told Mike G.then Mike G. told me.
I know that you're a tough bird and you have our confidence that you are and will continue to recover.
If you can find the energy and want to give me a call to my cell..I promise I won't argue too much.Cell # is 513-616-6465. My e-mail is email@example.com.
It's good to know you are on your feet and walking. By the way where are you? I thought you were in Cleveland, Ohio but read that you are in another hospital, only I can't find that message in this journal again to get the answer.
Hi Dad! Congratulations on your new grandson! Sorry to read (from mom) that you weren't feeling well today? As they start weaning you off those heavy drugs you're going to start feeling it more, so keep your chin up- you're through the rough part! I don't know who Vince is, but I like his sense of humor--too funny! Call you tomorrow!
Congratulations on being a grandfather for the fourth time! Eric was able to send me a picture since I had an i-phone. Couldn't see his face up close, but next to Piper he looks pretty big. You'll probably see him in person before I get the chance! Sorry today you didn't feel as good but each day after surgery you actually progress. You notice it when you look back to the day before, so keep up the good healing! I'll stay in touch with Gayle from Michigan. Leaving in a few hours. How would you like a BIG hug? Just joking!!!!! Joel
Gary, its great to read Gayle's updates and to hear you recovering. Take it one day at a time, and you'll be back with Chocolate before you know it. Looking forward to seeing you.

Glad to hear you're keeping the Blue Side Up! No nose dives, ok? Oh, btw, scheduling has been trying to reach you and they need you to fly a stand-up to Moline this Friday. I told them I thought you'd be ready by then. :-)
So glad to hear you doing OK.Remember it's a day at a time and you'll be home soon.Give us a call when you feel up to it and know our thoughts and prayers are with you every day. I know that your in a good place on the ICU and they can help you to heal.

It was good to hear you (less than 24 hrs. after surgery). You sounded amazingly coherent considering you were well medicated. Congratulations! I understand the doctor has given you a thumbs up for skiing after Thanksgiving! Keep up the good healing! Remember, the important thing is to keep breathing and hugging your pillow!
Hey Dad- I've been checking in with Aunt Gayle...I'm so thankful that she and Uncle Eddy are there with you. She said you were doing well. Mom also said you sounded good. Maybe this is all due to some adequate pain management. Those nurses may be tough on you, but they know what they're doing, so I'm glad to hear that you are being a good patient and already looking forward to doing some skiing!
Hopefully I will talk with you soon. Love you so much, Dad...Glad you are safely over the hump- now comes the fun part, right?
Gayle just called and verified you do have the busiest surgeon in LV, hence being 4 hours late! Its now 10:57 PM and you are now sedated. We are praying for a successful outcome. I'll talk to you on Monday.
You really need a Face Book account.
Get Gayle to set one up for you.
Well Big Guy,
When you are reading this, all has gone well, and the many prayers from all of us have been answered.
Please know from from Nancy and I that those thoughts, well wishes and most importantly, prayers, will continue.
Wish we could go flying together again, but until we can, Keep The Blue Side Up!
Gary..Thinking of you today and sending my thoughts and prayers your way.I know you're in good hands with your surgeon and your post op care with Gayle and Ed will only be the best.Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress.
Hi Uncle Gary!
I am glad you are with family during this time and that Aunt Gayle was able to help you navigate the whole process. If Barbara Walters can do it, so can you! :) I will be praying for your surgery this week and your speedy recovery.
Know your not looking forward to the surgery. Nobody really does. But I do know that you are glad that it's finally going to happen and that you'll be able to get it all behind you. You have a lot of prayers going your way. I hope you can feel them with you on Friday. Love, Phyllis
