Ernie, great to read that you have come through your ordeal and doing well. Like I told you before, my father had this same surgery 3 years ago and he came thorough it great and is doing very well now. He is 85 now and was 82 when he had the surgery, so a big strong cavemen like you should do even better.
Looking forward to sharing a grog with Grog when you are up to it.

Hey Ernie, Welcome to the zipper club, and the other side of the mountain. I knew you could do it. Isnt it nice over here and the grazing is wonderful. Now here is to a speedy recovery. Oh and don't worry about your badge of courage. It will look a lot better as time goes on. Oh and Elsie says hi to Toro. Each day will be a better one.

Just read the last post from Lori, and I am trying to keep up with Ernie on a daily basis, and so happy to know that he is progressing as well as he can. Hopefully he will be up and going strong before long. Tell him speedy recovery.

Julia and I were so glad to see how well you're doing, Ernie. And it was great to finally meet your mom...what a sweet lady! Hard to believe in her spare time she's a Black Ops Team Commander specializing in assassinations and various sundry psy-ops. Uh oh...I think I've said too much...

Happy Birthday ERNIE!!!
Hurry up and get better so we can get back to playing Russian Roulette, wrestling alligators, sky diving with bed sheets, nude paintball fights, rock-climbing active volcanos, nude dirt bike riding in the desert, nude bull riding then nude bull-fighting (after we get thrown off), going to Metallica concerts and yelling "heavy metal sucks!", and eating at McDonalds.
PS: if you need me to attend all your favorite girlie bars in your place while you get better, let me know. Just tell me what girls to get lap dances from and you can live vicariously through me in the meantime. Also, tell me which girls you owe money to (so that I stay away from them).
Marie King posted a note for Ernie that says:
Thanks for all the updates Mom and friends!
Please give Ernie a big kiss in the cheek from all of us at the Tonga Hut!
And when he's up for it, maybe a little birthday spank too... Teehee!
HAPPY HAPPY ONE!!!
Brian and the girls posted a note for Ernie that says:
You do realize that having your birthday and re-birthday next to each other, you're still getting only ONE gift. Think of it like this, that's ONE MORE than last year from me. Or think of you new heart as the gift that keeps on giving.....giving us years of Ernie puns, HOORAY....
The girls are screaming HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERNIE!!!! as they are getting ready for school. See you soon.
Jim Jones posted a note for Ernie that says:
Thinking of you. Glad you are now officially out the other side. The waiting is in the rear view mirror and the healing is ahead of you. All the best.

Update from Mom: Ernie last seen munching on ice chips!! He is definitely in a lot of pain (now taking horse pills to keep the pain away). First real words mouthed: "Shoot me now!" On the plus side, he is doing foot exercises which just made the nurse smile. Pathetic way to hit on a nurse!
Kelly Hiphipahula Reilly posted a note for Ernie that says:
That great news Lori thanks for the post! Leave it to Grog to fight with ventilator so he attracts pretty nurse to wink at! ;)
Hope Grog and all your family rest well tonight! Much love..
Juliana Korsborn posted a note for Ernie that says:
Happy surgery, Ernie! I am actually NOT worried about you - my mom had this surgery and came through it fine, despite being half-dead at the time, so you should have no trouble a 'tall. Oh, and Joe Suggs wishes you well and is thinking about you (he doesn't know you're all pink and hairless, though, which I'm sure is why he can think about you).
Bonnie posted a note for Ernie that says:
So good to hear! Thanks Ernie's family for keeping us posted. I got a little teary reading this and realized I was more worried than I thought. How's he look all pink and hairless? Like the day he was born? Except WAY bigger!!
Couldn't stay serious for long.
Hugs to all! ~ Bonnie in Texas
Lori (Ern\'s sister here in CA) (Ern I.R.) posted a note for Ernie that says:
Ernie is responding to commands, not too happy with the ventilator, and basically being himself. He is looking good. According to the nurse, he will be off the ventilator in a little bit (might already be off) and if he is really good they might make him sit up tonight (probably tomorrow morning though). I'll be talking to Mom later tonight after she leaves the hospital and post again after that conversation.

I know this whole heart thing is a bad excuse for not finishing up that mug project we have been working on for 2 years. So when this is completed and you are back to 100% or at least the Ernie 58% standard, lets talk.
good luck and don't worry.
Very common these days Bro,
