Hi Peggy and Duane
This morning's news is terrific. You all should be very encouraged by the fact Duane's stroke symptoms seemed to have eased totally. While you know things can happen, you go into these surgeries hoping and praying they don't. We can only thank God for listening and seeing Duane is whole once again. You must be tired of hearing "patience". Time will heal and sometime this week, no doubt, you will be heading home for step two - recovery. Cheryl, Ontario

Peggy, I am relieved to read that he is 100% fine - I know time will tell, but no reason to think otherwise.
I have been thinking of him, and although I must admit I felt it best not to mention it to Duane's "same day surgery" buddy - I will now feel comfortable telling him that Duane is doing well.
I feel your neurotic pain as I had my own scare with Richard's heart rhythum, or lack thereof yesterday and although I had been staying at the hotel - last night I refused to leave his room - things were better this am. Sort of a roller coaster ride, isn't it.
I am glad that I won't have to worry as much about Duane now - Hallaleuiah!

Duane and Peggy,
Dale and I are in awe of God's miracle in Duane. "He is able". Does Duane remember what I told him, as we said goodbye at the airport after visiting for Christmas? I told him he would be a miracle, and God would give him a great testimony. God is not an indian giver. What he has done will NOT be taken back. Duane IS healed in Jesus name. Though I do understand you being "neurotic" ha! Just an after shock from that earthquake. We are praying for you both. We love you, Nedra

Dear Peggy and Duane
Oh thank goodness. It is extremely tough to be patient, but that's the order of the day. These things take time and detours and Duane had an unfortunate detour but he's back. Yes, the next few days are watch and see and we'll all be waiting for updates as to Duane's progress. You are all in our prayers. Duane is just going to have a great story to tell. Patience! Cheryl, Ontario

We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father! Now...As I remember there was this deal with "ice chips". Pastor Duane, if need be, I will personally take over, but no ice chips. We are going straight to the "ice cream"!!! Now, I'm thinking a nice creamy sherbert, probably orange!
When you do hospitals...it's ice cream. You need the protein for tissue repair. Pills don't do it!
If they offer cookies with the ice cream, REFUSE...you and I do cookies when I get there.
You're "on go" now, so be patient!
Hal

Duane...Don’t be discouraged. You get an extended vacation with a thrill ride added in the middle for no additional cost (sort of, at least you did not have to buy the ticket). You are a brave and strong man and proof prayers do get answered. I am giving up cheese stuffed fried jalapeño peppers and fried Twinkies next week.
happy boating!

Peggy,
Tell Duane not to be discouraged as there are many ups and downs with this road. Tell him we are so thankful that they found all this while he was in the hospital and something could be done to fix it. Hang in there and know that we are in your corner.

I am encouraged by the good updates of Duane. I did not tell Richard - as he continues to ask me "how is Duane doing." I don't want to upset him as Duane has been a big inspiration to Richard.
Each day will get better for Duane and I just can't see this setting him back for long!

Sending postive thoughts Duane's way. I am an aortic valve replacement patient. I was out in four days and now realize how fortunate I was. Now I feel foolish...24 hours after surgery I was complaining about hospital food. Duane's situation reminds us all of the serious of the surgery. Please tell Duane that the entire community is behind him.
