Hang in there marjorie. It is tiring but I promise it will get better. I remember mom wanted to feel back to normal like in a week! Doctors said she had to be patient and she would. If you need anything please call. Happy Valentines Day!
Happy Valentine's Day to you and Marjorie! What an incredible gift God gave you this year.......a repaired heart and life extended with your family. Your mother and I had a short but sweet visit at the Bennett's, so good to see her looking so beautiful, so happy her son is recovering. Take care and give yourself plenty of time to heal! Don and Mary Beth Austin
Hope you can enjoy a quality "snow day" with your kids today!
I really related to your recent journal entry. Yeah, it really is a surreal haze, isn't it? And ain't it great to be on the other side of it?
I appreciate Marjorie's posting on my guestbook yesterday. Like Adam says in his book, every patient is different. My appetite never left me; well, a few of the hospital meals...
Regarding the shoulder pain, to me that's the surprising pain. Kevin Kimmel in PA also has it. And I read about it in some literature the hospital gave me. Not to be graphic, but I think it has something to do with the way the doctors separated our chests like a clamshell. Still can't believe they did that to me!!
I looked at your photos. God has blessed you with a wonderful family! I also noted you must have lived in Novi, MI at one point. I was born and raised in greater Detroit.
You guys are in my thoughts and prayers. Keep on running (walking is okay) the race marked out for us.
Glad to read you are doing so well and are back home. But nobody should look as good as you did after such a major surgery. Did Marj photoshop those pictures before she posted them? The Lord has blessed you richly, my friend. He has also carried you through a valley, now to get back to the mountain top!
David: I read your journal entry this morning and this is what I learned from your
surgery.... unless we go through something like this, we don't really realize how many many people our life has impacted. When you mentioned all the friends and family who have shown you concern & care,it is amazing how your life has affected so many others.God opened the curtain and gave you this gift through the surgery. I don't mean to sound morbid, but it isn't until after we have died that this true picture is revealed.
God has extended your life here on earth, remember how your life makes a differnce and impacts many people, not just your immediate family. You are an important person who truly makes a differnce in many lives. What more to live for! Keep your courage and get better.

I'm one of those heart valve journal friends who has prayed for your successful surgery and recovery. Seems that prayers have been answered. I'm hoping my recovery will go as smoothly next month.

Hey Dave and Marge,
Rick M told me about the surgery and I am hoping all is good and you are doing fine. It has been a long time since I have heard anything about you guys, but your family looks great. Glad to see all of you and hear things are going well, especially the surgery. Good luck with all and if you want shoot me an email at email@example.com later, Rob McGuire

I just read your message this morning and am praising our Heavenly Father for His touch of healing on David.
Marjorie, your verson of the Psalms is so true. We are so thankful that you are all home and that the progress will be strong and your time relaxed. I'm glad that Gene and Carol will be there with the family this week. I know that having them there will bring comfort to you as you go back to work tomorrow. Praise God for His abundant love. Love in Christ, Peggy Hendry, A friend of Gene and Carol.
David & Marjorie, we live in Missouri, but were good friends of your parents(Dave). We attended church together in Grapevine before they moved to the Gainesville area. We found out about your surgery through our previous SS class. We have seen miracles in our own family this past year so we know how powerful prayer is. It is so comforting to know so many people are lifting you up in your time of need. We have followed your progress and are thankful to the Lord for the great doctors, family and friends that God worked his plan through. God bless the Heathcoat family.
We are so happy that you are home! It will be nice to rest in your new chair and get your strength back....hoping your appetite will be better soon. We will see you tomorrow and glad we are able to stay a few days and help out!! We have enjoyed all the messages that have been sent. We love you, Mom and Dad
That is incredible news. I thought you booked a 7 day "sun and fun" vacation:)
We are thinking of you guys, praying for everyone involved, and thanking god for his love.
Miss you guys, congrats again.

God has certainly put his healing hand upon David, and how exciting it is for him to be able to come home soon. We will continue to pray for energy, strength, rest and to continue to endure through the days ahead for all of you. We love you very much! Smouse Family
Wow, as I write this, you may be getting ready for discharge--awesome! Sounds like a perfect surgery and recovery. Your photos are great, the love shines through! I'm praying my March surgery will go as well as yours. Will continue to follow your progress. God bless.

How wonderful is this praise report! I am excited to hear how well David is doing in all of this. We will continue to pray for "no complications" in all of this. Want to share Psm 41: 1-3. It has been my mainstay with my journey with my spouse, Charles. God's Word is so faithful in our hour of need.
David & Marjorie & Family,
We give thanks to God for your progress and that this is behind you. I sure feel that way myself. Looks like we'll both be returning home about the same time. I appreciate your faith in Christ throughout this story time. I know we ourselves so felt like we were in story seas, yet Jesus always has been with us and has stilled the storms. God continue to be with you guys!
David and family-
Just wanted you to know Sister Sandy from San Antonio,(Lori Bearden's sister) is praying for you and remember- the Catholic connection is alive and well! Will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.
Hi Marjorie and David
I found the pain medication was giving me the nausea so I asked to get switched to Tylenol Extra Strength. They'll probably start backing off on the drugs soon anyway. Just a thought. Glad things are otherwise doing better. Cheryl, Ontario
