Something I just thought of - if nursing care is ever lagging, cupcakes or a tray of cheese & crackers left in the employee lounge with your name and a thank-you works pretty durn well to elevate the patient status to VIP. However, it sounds like you're getting good service at the moment.
I am watching this process from afar, but my heart and thoughts are right there with you guys!
To David, family and Team Dave members. We all pray for Dave daily so:
Do all things without complaining and
disputing, that you may become
blameless and harmless, children of
God without fault in the midst of a
crooked and perverse generation,
among whom you shine as lights in the
( Philippians 2:14-15 *NKJV )
And David; Arise, shine; For your light
has come And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
Hi Dave, I am glad everything went well with the surgery. I was thinking about you today, wondering just how much fun you are probably having just laying around. Take care! Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Pam
It was my pleasure yesterday to be part of the in-hospital Team Dave support team. I enjoyed meeting everyone in person and providing what little extra support I could. It was fun having lunch with Dave's Mom and Dad.
Thank you family for letting me participate with you hour-by hour.
Welcome to the other side buddy! When I get back to Louisville this week I will have a shot of Makers in your honor...Frankly I would have the shot anyways but at least there is a GREAT thing to toast.
Oh boy, after all that checking and re-checking and they still had a surprise. I bet Dave's gonna be highly irritated with that, but hopefully he'll just be happy to be done with the surgery and ready to start his recuperation.
Thanks so much for the updates!

Hi Dave! Thinking of you all day long and sending you good thoughts & wishing you the very best! Don't be shy, ask for pain meds as soon as you need them, and get up and walk as soon as you can! Love to you, Grace, and Tania. And since I am from the south, I will add, Bless your heart!
I am praying for you to have a successful surgery and easy recovery. You are young and strong and this will all turn out right.
Sorry to hear that you had to have the surgery but wish you the best!
You have a big heart!!
Love, Annie Hasenbein
Since I'm reading your journal at 2:30 AM, I guess today's your big day. Best of luck and a quick recovery. Have someone keep us up to date on your journal. We'll miss your wonderful writing, but really all we'll care about is that you're dong well.
It has been 11 weeks since my valve replacement and about 9 weeks since we spoke over the phone. I feel great by the way and the pain is essentially gone. What surgery ?? :).
I know you did all your homework and have made all the right calls. You are in great hands with a great attitude going into this. Remember, you can't heal if you are in pain......so hit the meds when you are in the hospital man. Look forward to reading about your progress. Dean
David best of luck to you tomorrow. You are going to sail through this buddy. Keep the pain meds high the first few days and this will be a blurry memory in a few days. See you on the other side Chief.
All the prep work has been done. At this point, it's out of your hands and into God's. Just kick back and enjoy the ride... and the narcotics... and the hospital food ... and the visits from family and friends.... and the quiet boring times ... and re-runs on television.... and sleep.
My thoughts and many prayers will be with you,Tania, and Grace tomorrow and will continue while you recover. You have such a wonderful support network and I am just honored to be part of that. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday and if you still want me to bring you up a Blizzard from DQ just let me know and it is there!!!
God's Blessings to you and your family!! See you soon :)
We are heading up to Madison shortly. Just wanted you to know our church family also has been praying for you, Tania, Grace, and for your surgeon(s) wonderful hands. This is a passage from Phillippians 4: 4 - 8 that I have called upon many times and pray this for you. ..."Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus"..... We love you very much! See you soon!
