Glad to hear you are having a good day today. Hoping the days to come are all good days too. Talk to you soon....Nick
I'm glad you had safe travels to Cleveland. Godspeed and good luck with all your pre-op testing. You will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers this week, and I will probably have a thousand questions for you when you get home!
Chris - I had OPS for mitral regurgitation on 7/12/11 Dr. Gillinov was my surgeon - you are at the best hospital with the best doctor. My surgery was open heart (2nd open heart one in 84 for small hole congential issue) Cathy and his Dr. Tai - all his team are wonderful and excellent. You will do fine.
Since you had no symptoms, would you mind sharing how they detected the severe mitral regurgitation - was it an enlarged atrium, or pulmonary hypertension high. I'm curious because I was running on the treadmill 1 hr also (little strain at the first 15 min) but I pushed through and then could continue going.
However an echo showed high pulmonary pressure. Thanks for sharing and RELAX - YOU ARE IN THE BEST HANDS.
Chris your one lucky guy!!! Your going to the best heart hosoital in the world and your having one of the best surgeons in the world performing your surgery. Not to many people can say that. That's how I felt back in Aug 2010 feeling very lucky. Thank god it's 2011.
Hun, You will do great! I will be by your side for everything! Just think Hunny you have your own Cardiac RN to take care of you with lots of love and encouragement....With all my heart :> Love, Your Wife
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for an uneventful surgery & recovery. I loof forward to following your journey through post op.
This HVJ site has really been a big help to me and a blessing.
I know the surgery will prove to be a grand success! I'll be looking forward to reading any and all updates. You, Sam, and the kids will be in my thoughts and prayers over the next several days. We'll chat in the very near future.
Yeah....I have a prolapsed mitral valve and a moderately leaky tricuspid valve and a mildly leaky aortic valve. I know he is going to fix the mitral and tricuspid, but he may leave the aortic alone. Won't know until I wake up. Are you flying or driving to Cleveland?
We are praying for you and for Dr. Gillinov that all goes well on September 22. We are just a few miles away if you need us.
Love to all of you,
Jon, Jeannie, Hannah, Tanner, Braden, and Addison Wallenkamp
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. Stay strong and we will be thinking of you and looking for updates. If you and Sam need anything let us know. We can always come down on the weekend and help mom out.
