I had my my mechanical aortic valve installed five years ago. I test with myown insurance provided tester every week. I told my coumidin clinic up front that I was not giving up my green leafy vegetables. We set the dosage so I continue to eat a consistent amount of them. I am a full time farmer and sometimes eating out of the lunch box makes it tough. I still manage to stay in my 2.5-3.5 range. The worst is over so good luck, and find a good cardiac rehab to get back up and running.

The anticoagulation clinic here that monitors my warfarin say that green leafy vegetables are not off limits but needtobe consistent. Good luck for continued recovery. Remember...one day at a time.

I'm 35, and I have mitral stenosis, as well as aortic and tricuspid regurgitation.. they say it'll be in the next year that I NEED at least the aortic and mitral replaced, and possibly the tricuspid? all though are stories are different. We seem to have similar valve issues for different reasons... Please keep us all posted on your recovery...!
