Carol Jackson  Thanks Jeff. It's always good to get encouragement from fellow heart patients. I have to keep blowing into the tube, cough with my pillow and walk. The only thing I really like to eat is...fruit. Again your insight is invaluable.

You are next! I'm glad i'm on the other side now.The actual incision doesn't bother me. The worst part is when the tubes were in. I just keep walking round and round the halls with my husband. I think I'm ready for a nap now!

Carol Jackson  Thanks Anne. Boy I'm so glad I exercised all the time because the nurses can't believe how strong I am and how my core and leg muscles make it so much easier to get out of a chair and bed without straining my chest. Thanks for your prayers

I'm finally finding a hot spot for my iPad so writing back to people. Thanks for your offer. You and Sheri will just have to stop over some day after work and bring something from the grocery store. All the nurses are amazed how I whip around the hallways now with no help..just Doug walking beside me. All those ab, core, and leg exercises have really helped me get up from the chairs and bed. I couldn't have done it with without my family. My mom was a real trooper when my brother brought her up. Meredith and Doug were there every step of the way. Say, hi to everyone at Jefferson.

Carol Jackson  Yes, they are a very weird sensation when they pull them out, but what a relief! It was so much fun following your your progress so now I bet it is fun to follow someone else's progress. I'm walking around the perimeter now without holding onto Doug. I'm on a roll and hope to get out today- Monday.

Carol Jackson  Robin, ya I'm doing great. I've been home 4 days and got off pain med 2 days ago except for Tylenol. yea! I found out the 22 when I can start cardio rehab. Nurses couldn't get over how good of shape I was in....core and lower body strength which made recovery so much easier, thanks to you!

Carol Jackson  Rebecca, thanks for reminding me of starting cardio rehab early. I meet with my physician on Oct 22 so we will probably line that up. It is so nice to be on the other side. I have been home 4 days and got off pain meds 2 days ago because they made me so sick. Now only on Tylenol. Any other ideas?
