Hi Bev,

Did your Lucky-dog-walker come by today? Do you have others lined up to take you out when you need a doctor's appt? Remember that you are supposed to drive yet.

I enjoyed our day yesterday - loved meeting your doctors and having time to chat, chat, chat.

Do you have someone who can get a cell phone charger for you?

Remember to take it easy now for long-term health.

Love,
Adeline

You really are the poster babe of how to deal with the ups and downs of heart surgery and inconvenient side trips. I wish you continued success in your recovery.

Sunday, March 21st. Bev... How good it is to see you looking so well and with Lucky in such good hands. I don't know who looks more proud.
Yesterday was our 18th "A Day of Authors" which went quite well. We moved the author signings to the upstairs hallway so there was more room for people to stop and visit and look at the books in the atrium area just outside the pavilion. We missed you, but are pleased with your recovery and progress and hope you will be with us next year. Looking forward to seeing you again soon.

Dear Bev,

I love your new photo. You both look wonderful! Isn't it amazing what a six week "vacation" can do for you? :-) I know what kind of welcome we get from our dogs when we return from a visit, so imagine yours was very special. You probably won't be let out of sight for awhile.

Although you have been out of sight for awhile, you definitely have not been out of mind. I think of you often, and continue to keep you in my prayers. Enjoy this lovely Spring weather.

Love,

Janet K

Hi to Beverly,
Richard was justing telling his mom all about her yesterday and how remarkable she is and how well she is doing. It has been a little over 6 weeks for him as well and it is getting better.
Lisa, nice to hear you are sounding more at ease as it is a roller coaster of emotions for sure.
Keep getting better and stronger every day Beverly.

Hi Bev:

We have been following your progress and so pleased that you are back home and doing well. We are heading out to Palm Desert for 2 weeks so by the time we get back, you will be roaring about, I predict. I have had a good week after my short stay at St. Jude and seem to be tolerating the meds that they put me on. I just have to hope that Aortic Fibrillation doesn't revisit! We would love to see you but knew that this week would be busy for you. We'll see you in a couple of weeks.

with love, Ted and Joy

Dear Bev,

When we have been gone for any length of time, I'm always so glad to be home. I can't imagine how much more enjoyable it must be for you after your "vacation" at the hospital! I'm sure it's tough to pace yourself, but hope you resist the urge to catch up on everything too soon. How wonderful that Spring is on the way just in time for you. Take care.

Love,

I posted a note two minutes ago but apparently lost it. So happy to hear your progress, Bev, now it sounds like the only thing left to do is take it "slow and steady"So glad Karen is there through your "transition" but know she'll be happy to be back with her dogs and home. I will really miss not reading Lisa's postings - she has such a flair for expressing thoughts. I think she needs to do some writing professionally, I know I would buy it. In fact, I have a friend, Jodi Rae Ingstad, in Valley City, N.D. who began writing short columns for the local (and I mean LOCAL) newspaper under the title "Blonde on the Prairie". They were terrific and is now preparing an Erma Bombeck type book (was sponsored by a publisher) I keep thinking of you Lisa. Hey, this is supposed to be for Bev but typical me - follow any random thought. See you soon Bev, love you and continue to send positive prayers your way. Love ya, Irene

Hi Lisa
Your mom is definitely a force to reckon with and I think I'd love to know her in person. You just have to be so proud of her. Continuing with her journal postings gives all of us a little insight and further hope into how well these surgeries can work even for those who are a little older. It's amazing how much our bodies can tolerate. Now if we can only wrap our minds around that. Tell Bev I wish her well. Cheryl, Ontario

What a journey you have made and you are now back to the - healthy, determined, and wiser. I know you will take lots of deep breaths and RELAX , something very difficult for us Type A's but once we get the hang of it we do it all the way. I'm so happy this step by step has been so successful. My grandson, Justin, and 3 of his friends are leaving for Costa Rica tomorrow, he is so excited, the volcanos, the beaches, the zipline over the forests. His first trip on his own, it should be memorable. Looking forward to the Authors' Lunch on Sat and the the OC Symphony on Sun. but really looking forward to seeing you nestled in your home. Love ya, Irene

So I take it Bevery is home. I can well understand the angst mixed with relief and a flurry of emotions. I have stated right out loud that when my husband and I walked back into our home that Friday night after release, we both stood there hugging and crying together! What an emotional time and it is a little frightening to think you are on your own, but the visiting nurse coming the next day made it much easier and gave some comfort. 5 weeks later, it is much better. It takes time and let's face it, the entire experience is a bit bewildering if you ask me so I can undeterstand that she should feel that way! Sounds like she is doing great to me, obviously so many that know her know her "spirit" will not let her down! Good news.

Bev & Lisa, After having surgery 6 mos. ago, I recall that coming home although wonderful presented its challenges. Seperating the unneccessary from the necessary was a daily challenge and a continual process. Getting proper rest, both physical and emotional, was key and normalcy came along when it was supposed to. Also, I learned to ask for and accept help. Welcome home and blessings aplenty! Nancy Kent

Hi! Bev...
It's so good to hear that you are improving and will be going home. Alpha's A Day of Authors is this coming Saturday so I've been busy helping Diane Wilkinson update the signs and working with Karen Blackley on last minute details of the Authors' Dinner on Friday. You've always been one of our staunchest supporters and we will miss you.
I'll fill you in on the happenings after the event.

Just want you to know that you are loved and in my thoughts and prayers. Knowing that you put forth your all in your recovery I'm confident that we'll enjoy many more good times together. Masako
