Wow! Similarities in how we got to this point, no major symptoms, went to doc for unrelated issue, non-emergency, same outlook, same hospital and surgeon! I found out in July and now my surgery is two weeks from today! I meet Mr. Serious (thanks for the heads up about him) Dr. Byrne tomorrow (I initially met with Dr. Larry Cohn) and will have a bunch of preop testing at Brigham and Women's while there. I'll be keeping you in my prayers and will look for your journal updates as well. Your husband found you a great resource and source of support here! Welcome!

I am sending prayers your way. The day will be here very quickly and then onto recovery. You will do very well I am sure. I had my aortic valve replaced 5 weeks ago. It was a 5 day hospital stay and then home recovering. I am in cardiac rehab and highly recommend it.
Are you having the surgery at Hartford Hospital? I had mine done at Mt Sinai in NYC.
