The last thing I, or anybody, want to hear is that a heart valve surgery re-operation is required.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Dr. Ben Rosin and Adam Pick at Torrance Memorial Hospital\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/Images\/ben-rosin-cardiologist.gif\" width=\"300\" height=\"257\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">Dr. Ben Rosin &amp; Me<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In light of the stress (and perhaps a little fear), I have lots-and-lots of good news to report. Here are some highlights from my third annual echocardiogram following my double valve replacement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The replaced aortic valve is performing well. There is only minor leakage (1+) around a suture. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2008\/08\/05\/heart-valve-flaps-what-are-they-how-do-they-work\/\">heart valve flaps<\/a> continue to look thin and, most importantly, seal tightly.<\/li>\n<li>The pulmonary replacement valve is also doing well with trivial minor regurg.<\/li>\n<li>My left ventricular <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2008\/11\/25\/ejection-fraction-normal-values\/\">ejection fraction<\/a> is 65%.<\/li>\n<li>The size of my left ventricle is now categorized as &#8220;normal&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>There was no <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2010\/02\/09\/mitral-valve-repair-blood-clots-pericardial-effusion\/\">pericardial effusion<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Overall, Dr. Rosin said my heart is doing very, very, very, very well.<\/p>\n<p>Wooo-Whoooooooooo!!! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>Keep on tickin!<br \/>\nAdam<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[63],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-672","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-adams-updates"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/672","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=672"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/672\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=672"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=672"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=672"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
