This inspirational note comes from Dr. Jeff Pirofsky who just celebrated his one-year anniversary from a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/mitral-valve-repair-surgery.php\">mitral valve repair operation<\/a>. Even though I was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2011\/03\/15\/asymptomatic-mitral-valve-repair-regurgitation\/\">not symptomatic due to regurgitation,<\/a> the surgery needed to be done. You helped me with some difficult decisions during that time. You also were able to help me find with many fine surgeons.<\/p>\n<p>I know I made the right choice with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/surgeons\/dr-Marc-Gillinov-Cleveland-Ohio.php\">Dr. Marc Gillinov, MD<\/a>. He was able to perform the repair without a sternotomy (also known as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2010\/09\/13\/video-mini-thoracotomy-for-minimally-invasive-mitral-valve-repair\/\">thoracotomy<\/a>). He did a great job. In fact, whenever I show my scar people say &#8220;is that it?&#8221; expecting something else.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" src=\"\/Images\/marc-gillinov-round-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"220\" height=\"275\" \/><br \/>\nDr. Marc Gillinov &#8211; Jeff&#8217;s Heart Surgeon<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I was back to work in less than two weeks and probably could have returned in one week but mom came to help take care of me but was disappointed when there was no one to take care of.
