To share more insight about the Mitral Conclave, I asked <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/surgeons\/dr-David-Adams-New+York-New%20York.php\">Dr. David Adams, the program director<\/a>, to describe the origins of this very unique event. Please stay tuned&#8230; In the next few days, I will be posting Dr. Adams&#8217; response to one of your questions about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/mitral-valve-regurgitation-symptoms-leaking.php\">mitral regurgitation disease<\/a> and mitral valve repair.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>For those of you who are hearing impaired, I have provided a transcript of this video interview below.<\/p>\n<p>Adam:\u00a0 Hi, everybody.\u00a0 It\u2019s Adam and we are coming to you live from the Mitral Conclave in New York City and I am very fortunate to be with Dr. David Adams who is the Program Director of the Mitral Conclave and, Dr. Adams, I just want to congratulate you on a great first day here at the Conclave.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know the exact count of surgeons and cardiologists who are downstairs, but I\u2019m curious.\u00a0 What was your expectation coming into today and how long has this been in the planning process to get all these great folks together to talk about mitral valve treatment?<\/p>\n<p>Doctor David Adams, M.D.:\u00a0 Adam, it was an amazing day.\u00a0 I must say I get to go to a lot of meetings, but I\u2019m really proud of what happened downstairs today.\u00a0 I\u2019ll give you a little background.\u00a0 We\u2019ve been wanting to bring the world leaders in mitral surgery together for some time and I had an idea to approach <em>The American Association for Thoracic Surgery<\/em> last year just a few weeks before the annual meeting and the AATS is really the &#8212;
