I have watched most, if not all, of the episodes during the past forty-two seasons. I love everything about the show that many consider the &#8220;original&#8221; reality tv series.<\/p>\n<p>Luckily, Robyn, my wife, and Ethan, my son, enjoy Survivor as well. When we recently watched the first episode of Survivor 43, Robyn shouted out, &#8220;Stop! Did you see that?&#8221;, when the show introduced a new contestant.<\/p>\n<p>I looked at Robyn and said, &#8220;What? I missed it.&#8221; I then hit rewind. There, on the screen, I saw the name &#8220;Mike Gabler&#8221;. Next to his name, we saw the words, &#8220;Heart Valve Specialist&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b9rj5QqRK0A?si=1FFs5FFyQo99W69e\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Robyn looked at me and said, &#8220;What the heck is a Heart Valve Specialist?&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>I was beyond curious. So, I popped open the LinkedIn app on my phone and typed M-I-K-E-SPACE-G-A-B-L-E-R in the search bar.<\/p>\n<p>A smile crossed my face as I learned who Mike was and what he does for a living.<\/p>\n<p>Mike is a territory manager for transcatheter heart valves in Idaho, Alaska and Oregon.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-35492\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/..\/Images\/Mike-Gabler-tavr-heart-valve.jpg\" alt=\"Mike Gabler Survivor Heart Valve Specialist\" width=\"650\" height=\"315\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>More specifically, Mike is responsible for helping cardiac centers learn about and implant non-invasive devices like transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) on patients with severe heart valve disease.<\/p>\n<p>For the past 11 years, Mike has worked for Edwards Lifesciences. Prior to that, Mike worked at Medtronic and Boston Scientific in cardiac care.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-35491\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/..\/Images\/mike-gabler-survivor-43-heart-valve.jpg\" alt=\"Mike Gabler Survivor 43\" width=\"650\" height=\"438\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Well&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s enough for me.
