{"id":30787,"date":"2019-12-12T17:57:06","date_gmt":"2019-12-12T22:57:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/?p=30787"},"modified":"2023-03-03T12:38:34","modified_gmt":"2023-03-03T17:38:34","slug":"robin-arzon-peloton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2019\/12\/12\/robin-arzon-peloton\/","title":{"rendered":"Peloton Instructor, Robin Arzon, Sends Empowering Message to Heart Valve Patients!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I guess you could say that I&#8217;m somewhat addicted to our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onepeloton.com\/\">Peloton bike<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In this community&#8230; I&#8217;m not alone.\u00a0 After sharing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2019\/10\/14\/peloton-bike-review\/\">this post<\/a>, I heard from many of you about our mutual love for this fitness craze.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-30811\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/..\/Images\/robin-arzon-heart-valve-facebook.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"314\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>So you know&#8230; Earlier today, I reached my 500th bike ride as I finished a 60-day exercise challenge. For this special ride, I picked a live <a href=\"https:\/\/fascatcoaching.com\/tips\/tabata-intervals\/\">Tabata<\/a> session instructed by the one-and-only <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onepeloton.com\/instructors\/bike\/robin\">Robin Arzon<\/a>, a former attorney and non-athlete who is now the Vice President of Fitness Programming for Peloton.<\/p>\n<p>About midway through the ride, Robin happened to notice my Peloton name of &#8220;HeartValveGuy&#8221; as an online biker in her digital dashboard.\u00a0 I was then surprised to see Robin look into the camera and say:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;HeartValveGuy???<\/p>\n<p>HeartValveGuy!!!<\/p>\n<p>Does that mean you have a heart valve?<\/p>\n<p>You are amazing!<\/p>\n<p>That makes you bionic!<\/p>\n<p>Yah!&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the video of Robin sending her empowering message to heart disease patients all over the world:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/sXyLJv8ERl0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I share Robin&#8217;s wonderful video with you for a couple important reasons.<\/p>\n<p>First&#8230; It was fun!!!!<\/p>\n<p>Even though I was 2,700 miles away from Robin in Los Angeles, it felt like I was right next to her in the New York City Peloton studio. Very, very, very neat.<\/p>\n<p>Second&#8230; As you may have learned by now, I will do just about anything to drive awareness to heart valve disease which is a fatal disorder that is often mis-diagnosed and significantly under-treated. \u00a0According to the latest research, 30% of Americans over the age of 65 do not know what heart valve disease is and up to 25,000 people die each year from valvular disorders including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/aortic-stenosis-valve-heart-narrowing.php\">aortic stenosis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/mitral-valve-regurgitation-symptoms-leaking.php\">mitral regurgitation<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The final reason I share this video with you is that I don&#8217;t think Robin was actually speaking to me.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, I think Robin was really speaking to the idea of a person&#8230; a courageous person&#8230; a heart surgery patient&#8230; who is willing to face extreme physical discomfort and mental stress to ultimately enhance and transform their lives for the better.\u00a0 (She is all about empowerment and that is why I love her classes.)<\/p>\n<p>That said&#8230; I think Robin was speaking to all of the HeartValveGuys and HeartValveGirls out there.\u00a0 So, on Robin&#8217;s behalf, I say to you, &#8220;You are amazing!!!!!!
