We Just Launched A MitraClip Microsite!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;ve shared the wonderful\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2010\/06\/03\/mitraclip-high-risk-patient-interview-kato-pomer\/\">MitraClip success story of Kato Pomer<\/a>\u00a0before.<\/p>\n<p>However&#8230;\u00a0I&#8217;ve been much\u00a0less vocal about the success story of Karen Pomer, Kato&#8217;s daughter. If you didn&#8217;t know&#8230; It was Karen who tenaciously advocated for her 92-year old mother to receive the MitraClip, in 2009, when the device was still in a clinical trial. (Originally, Kato was told that she did not qualify to participate in the clinical trial.)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20051\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/..\/Images\/mitraclip-success-stories-kato-karen.jpg\" alt=\"MitraClip Patient Success Stories\" width=\"550\" height=\"501\" \/>Karen &amp; Kato Pomer (MitraClip Patient)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now&#8230; Six years later&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kato just celebrated her 98th birthday. Yay!<\/li>\n<li>Karen continues to drive awareness to the device that Kato calls the &#8220;Miracle Clip&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>The MitraClip has gone on to receive FDA-approval and help patients all over the world.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve received many\u00a0patient inquiries about this transcatheter mitral valve repair therapy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For these reasons&#8230; I&#8217;m very excited to announced the launch of the MitraClip Microsite.
