Today, I am going to profile the Medtronic Hancock Porcine Heart Valve from Medtronic.<\/p>\n

The Medtronic Hancock Porcine Heart Valve is a stented tissue valve in which the tissue is attached to a cloth-covered, flexible stent. The Medtronic valve is treated with a solution called T6 tissue treatment. This porcine heart valve<\/a> is approved for both the aortic valve and mitral valve positions by the Food and Drug Administration.<\/p>\n

So you know, the Medtronic Hancock Porcine Heart Valve has been used for over 30 years and a recent research study showed 97.8% freedom from structural valve deterioration at 20 years.<\/p>\n

Interestingly enough, Dr. Tirone David from Canada<\/a> has commented on this valve. He said, \u201cThe durability of the Medtronic Hancock Porcine Heart Valve has been excellent, particularly in the aortic position.\u201d<\/p>\n
