The doctor mentioned that I am moderate-to-severe and could be facing surgery soon. The cardiologist also said that my valve may be calcified. I&#8217;m curious&#8230;. Do you have any pictures of a calcified valve? Thanks! Tanya&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" alt=\"Calcified Leaflets Mitral Valve\" src=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/Images\/mitral-valve-calcification.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"253\" \/>Calcified Mitral Valve<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Like Tanya, I also wanted to know what a calcified heart valve looked like when I was diagnosed with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/aortic-stenosis-valve-heart-narrowing.php\">aortic stenosis<\/a> &#8211; prior to my heart valve replacement surgery. That said, I did locate the following pictures of a mitral valve and an aortic valve that are both calcified.<\/p>\n<p>The above picture shows a mitral valve in which the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heart-valve-surgery.com\/heart-surgery-blog\/2008\/10\/05\/mitral-leaflet-anatomy-problems-pictures-of-mitral-leaflets\/\">two mitral valve leaflets<\/a> are severely calcified.
