Hello! My name is Dr. Vincent Gaudiani and I am a cardiac surgeon having graduated from Case Western Reserve in 1973.
To date, I have performed approximately 10,000 cardiac surgeries, of which 6,000 involved heart valve procedures. I regularly perform surgery at hospitals including California Pacific Medical Center, Sequoia Hospital, Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.

"A MIRACLE - I am a very large, some say obese man at 5'10" and 360 lbs at the time of surgery due to mobility issues from a failed back surgery. I kept going into congestive heart failure after what was thought to be just a heart attack with one 90+% blockage to 75% of my heart...where a drug resistant stent was implanted and I was put on the drug Plavix. Turns out it was not plaque it was a piece of my Aortic heart valve that was blowing up, had flipped backwards and caused the blockage. I had to go a week cycling me off of Plavix and on to Heparin to control my blood flow so as not to bleed out on the operating table. During that time a piece of valve also caused blockage in my left leg...emergency vascular surgery. But Dr. Gaudiani having done I think over 10,000 of these surgeries, many on large people like myself, which has it's own complications recognized the importance of waiting. Diabetes...sleep apnea...kidney disease...etc..., etc. There were other surgeons ready to go in immediately...but Dr. G. had the expertise to know I would bleed out and probably die if we didn't wait. We waited and I am alive due to Dr. G and his team. Dr Tomomi Oka was a part of my miracle team...not to mention my cardiologists Dr. Gary Milechman and Dr. Sung Choi who continue to keep me ticking. And a quick thinking Dr. Lei Choi who recognized I was having a heart attack in her office and took me straight to her husband in the catheter lab for an immediate cath. I was hospitalized for 31 days and at one point watched my hand and wrist turn black as I lay totally aware I was dying...alarms blaring...unable to breath...panting like a dog...very surreal. All three of these guys are THE VERY BEST! and nice people too...without them I would not be here today. If it's a heart miracle you need...Dr. G and his team are THE MEN!!! "

"Excellent. We researched extensively to find the best surgeon in a large area and ended up at Gaudiani. In the hospital they joked about calling him "God" for short. He was very direct and clear. In my case it was a simple repair job and he told me so. When I first met with him he gave me a thick brochure with his practice's statistics for the previous 8 years, and his numbers were much better than the industry averages which other surgeons quoted to me. I never saw him again after the surgery, but the bedside manner of his assistant was great. I also recommend Sequoia Hospital, where I had the operation. They are a smaller hospital which specializes in heart operations. It is now 1 year later and I am feeling totally back to normal."
