"Dr. Robert Kalimi performed an extensive mitral valve repair. I highly recommend Dr. Kalimi, his staff, and Southside Hospital. The whole experience from diagnosis to discharge was as pleasurable as open-heart surgery could be. It was very important for me not to be on blood thinning medication, due to grafted skin from a previous injury. The valve repair rather than replacement was the correct choice for me. Dr. Kalimi took the time to explain the various options to my wife and I. He had great bedside manner and was always available for questions."

"I had a bicuspid aortic valve. Recently, my condition worsened and required valve replacement. I met with Dr. Kalimi to discuss the procedure, the valve options, the recovery process, the hospital facilities, etc. Dr. Kalimi’s consultation provided a calming yet realistic understanding of the expectations of this surgery. His knowledge and experience was quite impressive and provided me with a high level of confidence.
