"I had an aortic valve replacement with a St. Jude mechanical valve and a repair of an enlarged aorta. Doctor Petracek is one of the top valve surgeons in the world and has over 5000 valve surgeries under his belt and 9000 heart surgeries. He works at Vanderbilt and the Cardiac unit is all new. The Nurse Practitioners are top notch and know their stuff as well. Petracek is all business and that is what you want with your heart surgeon. He saw me and explained exactly what would be done, the procedure, time and risks. The Nurse Practitioners are very nice and go above and beyond! If you can get in to see him at Vanderbilt, then I suggest you do it!"

"I did research to find the best valve replacement doctor. Petracek is the the absolute best. Successful surgery, easy recovery. Everyone in the hospital, even down to the parking attendants was kind and thoughtful. Very positive experience. I am 84 years old."
