Dr. Joseph Baker, heart surgeon, graduated from Duke University Medical School in 1982.
After medical school, Dr. Baker completed a Surgery Residency at the University of Virginia in 1988 where he was named Surgery Chief Resident in 1989. Then, Dr. Baker completed a Thoracic Surgery Residency at the University of Virginia in 1990 where he was named Thoracic Surgery Chief Resident in 1991.
Dr. Baker is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and the Virginia Board of Medicine.
During his career, Dr. Baker has received several acknowledgments, honors and awards including:
