"Born with a coarctation of the aorta. Repaired 52 years ago! High blood pressure over the years (Untreated until last couple of years) caused a 'swelling' of the aortic root and increased the leakage (regurgitation) of blood back into my heart. Result = serious shortage of breath. Dr. Caldeira and his team @ Tampa General Hospital did a superb job. It's only one week following surgery. I came home TWO days ago (thank you JESUS!) and all things considered... hey... I feel pretty dang good. My surgeon here is no rookie... but sent me to Dr. Caldeira as being the most qualified (and closest) to perform this surgery. I put my life in his hands and after 4.5 hours in surgery, I'm WRITING a week later to urge urge to give him serious consideration. Christian Caldeira is a superstar. "
