"My experience with Dr Raney was exceptional. I was kept informed prior to surgery and after surgery my family was always in communication with the doctor. Dr. Raney's associates and staff were very good. I have had no complications and I have fully recovered. I especially appreciated their willingness to honor my request for a bloodless surgery. They helped me locate a great hemotologist and that helped with my peace of mind."

"Dr. Aidan Raney performed a successful heart surgery in which my aortic valve was replaced. I was home in 4 days. I was walking to Starbucks the next week."

"Dr Rainey is a man of few words and once he examined me he agreed to repair my regurgitating mitral valve by surgery. After the operation, Dr. Rainey described my mitral valve as "the most extremely deranged mitral valve in my experience." Once in surgery my triscupid valve was found leaking so it too was repaired. Neither valve was replaced with synthetic or animal valves. I never saw Dr. Rainey at bedside as he had out of town commitments. Since my surgery, I've had no problems with either valve."

"Absolutely grateful for the excellent results received. Dr. Raney exercised terrific judgement regarding repair vs. replace and 4 years post-op my repaired aortic valave shows no sign of increased regurgitation or degeneration. I would absolutely go back and do it again with his team if necessary. high recommended !"

"Dr. Aidan Raney was recommended to me by Adam's surgeon, Dr. Vaughn Starnes. My mitral valve was almost non-functional and Dr Raney described it as "the most extremely deranged mitral valve in my experience." During surgery a physician associate of Dr. Raney monitored the entire heart by ECG and recommended that my leaking tricuspid valve be examined. Dr. Raney repaired that valve, too. Surgery and recovery were at Hoag Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach. I've been hospitalized about 10 times in my life and never experienced better care and attitude by medical and support crew. As to the results of my surgery, I would recommend Dr. Raney and Hoag Hospital without reservation. (you may phone me if you wish, at 949-836-1079)"

"Dr. Raney was recommended as the kind of surgeon that other surgeons observe to learn from. He was cordial and helpful. The surgery went very well and recovery was amazingly easy. There was just about no pain involved. "

"I had excellent results with Dr. Aidan Raney. I also had 4 bypasses during the same surgery."

"My entire experience with physicians, staff and the facility were PHENOMENAL at the Hoag Hospital. I went to Dr. Raney as a "second choice" as my cardiologist did not feel I could safely travel to Cleveland. Although I have had MVP for many years, 2 or three cords ruptured in the days preceding surgery, i.e., I went from elective to semi-emergent in a very short time period. Dr. Raney was recommended as a local "artist” when it comes to doing valve repairs. Dr. Raney is compassionate, and really seeks out what the patient's expectations are...and is candid in whether he feels he can honestly meet the expectations. He takes time to listen...more importantly to "hear", and then takes as much time as needed to provide the patient with all the information they are seeking. Putting this review in perspective, I am a critical care RN with more than 30 years of clinical and administrative experience, and currently serve as National Clinical Director for Systems Improvement for the entire 158 facility Veterans Healthcare enterprise...and I would consider myself a "tough", observant, and very well informed patient. My primary care is delivered at UCLA, and with my very good insurance, I could have chosen UCLA, Cedars-Sinai, USC…or any other center of excellence in Southern California. On any quantifiable scale, I would not hesitate to give Dr. Raney and his team the highest scores possible on any survey tool!! "

"I am my surgeons biggest fan! I grew a very happy and open relationship with my surgeon. I was only 26 years old when I had my surgery and his child was close in age. He really took my age into consideration and gave me the smallest scar he ever made. I told him I was not yet ready to give up my bikini. Two years later he removed my wire ties and it was great to see him again with no worries at all. Another big part of him is also his staff. They are amazing!"

"My surgery was seamless and 100% successful. Released from the hospital 72 hours after the surgery and was back to my normal activities within 2 weeks. Dr. Raney provided me an amazing alternative to the traditional procedure for mitral valve repair and was caring throughout as was his amazing staff."

"The valve was in worse condition than expected however I still had the Robotic surgery as planned. Recovery so far has gone as anticipated. Would highly recommend Dr. Raney and his staff. They are all very personable yet very professional."

"I consider Dr. Raney to be an exceptional surgeon from my own experience as well as other patients of his that I had the opportunity to meet. I was not interested in bedside manner when choosing a surgeon as I insisted on not only a skilled surgeon with technique, but one that also operated with intuition and good judgment. What I received was an exceptional thinker, an innovator and a life saver who made critical decisions during my surgery that positively changed the outcome of my life. While positive in his assessment, he also was not unrealistic when consulting me on possible outcomes. His staff and surgical partners also were part of his decisive team that opted to repair rather than replace my valve which could only be determined during the surgery. After doing thorough research on available surgeons and my condition even to the extent of subscribing to medical journals, I am just as convinced post surgery as I was pre-surgery that I had as good of a surgeon as one could get at any other top hospital nationally who has the privilege of attracting such talent.
