HEART VALVE SURGERY OPTIONS FOR VALVE DISORDERS
VALVE REPAIR? OR VALVE REPLACMENT?

What Are The Heart Valve Surgery Options?
Valve Repair? Valve Replacement?

When a patient is diagnosed with a significant heart valve disorder - aortic stenosis, mitral valve regurgitation - two key surgical options exist depending on the nature of the heart valve disorder.

In some cases, the patient's valve will be repairable. In other cases, the patient will need to have a valve replacement. There are several elements which determine which surgical process that is best for the patient.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: In my case, I had no choice. As you can read in my story, my aortic stenosis and regurgitation was so severe that I was in desperate need of an aortic valve replacement. However, that is not always the case. During my recovery, while I was was in cardiac rehabilitation, I met several patients who had successful valve repairs.
