First journal entry since last December. Today is the one year anniversary of my aortic valve replacement surgery. Hard to believe. Or maybe not....So much to be thankful for today. A brilliant surgeon ( Dr. James Mcpherson), a successful surgery, loving and supportive family and friends........I feel so much healthier. Going to the gym, 4 mile walks 4-5 times a week. And I am getting in shape to fulfill one of my life long dreams.....In January I will be in Tampa, Fl., attending NY Yankee Adult Fantasy Camp...Life is good.....

I am so looking forward to the new year. Since my last entry, I have been feeling great and walking 2 miles a day (weather permitting). I plan to add swimming and bike riding to me list of activities this coming January. Many of you are aware that I was going to attend next month's New York Yankees Adult Fantasy Camp. I decided, even though my surgeon said I could still go, to postpone this until January 2012. As good as I have been feeling, imagine how much better I will feel next year at this time. The big news this week is that I finally purchased the Temperpedic bed. I have to say that everything I heard about the Temperpedic bed was true. In just two nights of sleeping on this bed I can feel a huge difference. Thank you to those who recommended the Temperpedic. Thanks again to all of you who have been so supportive during the past few months following my surgery. Surgeon told me today that everything looked great. He said I can resume ALL activities. This means driving for the first time since Oct. 4th. I can increase my physical activities. So, I can go the gym, travel, get massages etc.... Not bad for just 6 weeks after surgery. I'm very pleased to say the least. First on my list is purchasing my new Temperpedic bed. Thanks to those of your for your input re: the bed. It helped a lot.
