The info I have learned from your stories and journals and Adam's book has answered so many of the questions I have had difficulty getting doctors to respond to. I am a slight control freak and news junkie and like to have all the information to process. I wish the doctors would be more forthcoming with details. I think its less scary to know in advance there can be problems and that recovery is not a piece of cake but a process that gets better each day. Thanks again to all.

Great book. I learned so many things relating to post-surgery which I have NOT been told by any of the doctors I have seen. I especially appreciated the picture of the patient with all the tubes, etc. It is the way I have envisioned waking up from surgery and have to admit, I am so claustrophobic that the idea of being awake with a tube down my throat scares me more than the surgery itself! Wish it was all over ....
