I see my surgeon tomorrow to proceed with the surgery for the sternum wire removal, although I'm hoping that he says it's not needed anymore :)) Still experiencing pain, especially at night, but definately not as bad as it was. I can lift a lot more than I previously could post-op, just sore the next day. My energy level is doing good, just have days where I crash after doing too much, but those are getting fewer and fewer....whoohoo!!! Next week, I see the plastic surgeon for my scars, hoping to get injections or laser therapy to make them heal normally. This last week, my husband and I renewed our vows for our 10th anniversary and it was so good! It was really good to celebrate life and relationships and he's been such a super amazing support. Almost lost it while saying our vows, especially the part about sickness and health...means a lot more when your marriage has been through it and you come out stronger! It was also good to push myself physically to the max and have no consequences....I'm getting stronger! Anyone on here have their wires removed? Let me know any tips you may have!

been so long since I last wrote...feels like forever! Since the last post, I have only recently been able to run as I found that I was simply doing too much and pushing myself too hard. Have been running these last two months and it's amazing! (haven't been able to run like that in YEARS!) Completed reh-fit and that really helped. Post-op month 4-8 were REALLY hard, kept wanting to be better, but mine has been a slow recovery. Am still struggling with sternum wires but still waiting, wishing, praying they won't be removed. They started getting better for awhile, but am still struggling, but not as much! My husband and I are renewing our vows for our 10th anniversary this week in a big ceremony so I told my surgeon he has to wait until after that for me to remove them! :Looking back, there is no way I could have gone into another surgery so soon after, so glad that is is post-poned to only need it now, but am still praying I won't need it afterall! I have started working again (at 8 1/2 month postop) and that has been REALLY good, it helps me to feel normal again! This defiantely is not something for the faint-hearted, and recovery was way harder than expected, but am SO BLESSED! Three heart surgeries in my life and my only medication is daily low dose aspirin and that's just a suggestion, not a requirement! I am soooo blessed!!! I wake up every morning and am thankful I am alive and grateful for everyone who has and is still praying, caring, supporting. Thank you! God is sooo good to me!
