Patrick Dowd Welcome Elaine. I too had a bicuspid aortic and had it replaced 11 months ago. I feel soooooo much better. I can walk, hike, bike and exercise daily better that years before the surgery. It is definitely not a cake walk and you will need the love and support and prayers of friends and family. Make sure you are fully happy with the surgeon and hospital where you choose to have the surgery. Watch the video Adam has on this site with Dr. Vincent Gaudiani about how to choose a surgeon. I found it most helpful in making my decision. ( I actually chose Dr. G after watching and researching other Drs and hospitals and.....I chose the surgeon before I needed it and waited until the criterion was calling for the surgery some time later. Read Adam's book and have your spouse or family do so as well. It is packed with good information and advice. Best of luck on the Angio. Even if you don't have to have the surgery yet study and get prepared for the day that you do. Best of luck!!!
