Hi I\'m Matt, I live in Staffordshire, England.
I was born with a broken pulmonary heart valve that was repaired when I was born without OHS. Now 20 years later, it needs replacing.
I\'ve been on a waiting list for a year and a half for this operation, last thursday i had been in hospital since wednesday afternoon, I\'d not eaten in 24 hours or drunk in 14 by the time I found out my operation had been cancelled and I was being sent home, 2 and a half hours after I was due to have my surgery.
Today I am waiting for a phonecall to find out if there will be a bed free for me to have my operation tomorrow morning.
I\'m absolutely terrified, I\'ve never had an operation before, I\'ve never fully broken a bone either.
I work as a ride operator at a theme park and also as a scare actor for a company that tours around the uk, so its been a struggle to juggle this as well as work. Also convincing people that I am still fit to do the job is a challenge.
I think staying in the hospital the first time and seeing it all has made it worse for me. I just want it to be over and done with so I can get on with normal life!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I\'m not quite sure what to do with myself and I\'m sure I\'ll feel the same post op, all I\'ve been told is coughing is a bad idea! aha
