Because I care.

March 1, 2014

Why did I make a decision a couple of years ago to share my story of triumph & healing plus healthy heart resources throughout the community?

Because Heart /stroke disease affects the patient & entire family unit. So many people are suffering in silence & are unaware of the information available to help with the recovery process.

I thank God for placing the desire in my heart to help the community

Giving Up Is Not An Option

February 19, 2014

After 60 months: I continue to maintain a positive attitude, keep the lines of communication open with doctors plus promote heart/stroke awareness throughout the community.

I made a decision the morning of my open heart surgery to release the negative emotions & trust God with my life: 100%.

He fills me with strength & courage : every day to cope with symptoms from three surgeries.

I know without a doubt: God is a healer.

Please feel free to share my website & health blog with your family & friends.

Celebrate Life

February 12, 2014

Five Year Anniversary: Heart Valve Replacement Procedure….

My open heart surgery took place on February 12th, 2009. Four days later( February 16th, 2009), I received a pace maker due to heart blockage. A year later, June 23rd , 2010: my third surgery took place: pace maker revision.
When we were told about the additional surgical procedures that will take place in the future ( to replace the batteries in the pace maker) and that I will continue to take Coumadin ( blood thinner), due to the type of valve in my heart (mechanical) , plus cope with low endurance, shortness of breath etc.. I had two choices: to give up or trust God with my life.
I choose to trust God.

Sharing a couple of reasons why I smile…..

I know without a doubt , God is a healer.
My devoted husband & beautiful children continue to provide love & support.
God blessed me with a wonderful circle of amazing friends who I can count on through my high & low moments.
Every day: God fills me with the courage to help promote heart awareness throughout the community.

Thanks so much for being part of MY HEART JOURNEY

Have a lovely day

Christmas Holiday Season 2013

December 1, 2013

I give God ALL the honor & praise for keeping me in the palm of his hands. For the past 58 months, I survived three surgical procedures , experienced numerous health setbacks, cope with daily health challenges plus face additional procedures in the future re; my pace maker. When I experience low moments, God provides me with the strength & courage to press through to help someone in need while I’m dealing with my own health struggles. I’m glad the good days outweigh the low moments.
If you know of anyone facing any challenge, especially during the holiday season, please take the time to reach out & let them know you care. Why do I choose to smile ,count my blessings & move forward? because I continue to trust God with my life: 100%, my devoted husband, adorable children, family , wonderful circle of neighbors & friends ,Pastor & church family, American Heart Association Staff, Radical Love Family, Medical team, Diamond In The Rough Family continue to provide support.
A year ago, I set a goal to help more cardiac patients in 2013. I’m happy to report I reached more patients this year than I did in 2012.
I will continue to share the good news about my healing & promote heart awareness throughout the community.
I pray for peace, good health & joy for you & your family this holiday season.

“Acceptance: part of the healing process”…

August 18, 2013

RE: Brief Summary of how I find the strength within to move forward after three surgical procedures….

When I released the negative emotion ,fear: (which was a process), I began to accept what happened to me/ instead of living in denial. I learned how to face my health obstacles with a positive attitude by becoming proactive & keeping the lines of communication open with my medical staff plus creating a platform to help cardiac patients & their families.
Psalm 31:24 (NKJV)
Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the Lord.
I encourage anyone facing a heath challenge to pray daily, develop a strong support system & keep moving forward.

The fight against heart disease continues & I’m committed to promoting heart awareness throughout the community.

Sharing Words Of Encouragement

December 23, 2012

“Miracles happen every day, because God is real….”

The night before my open-heart/valve replacement surgery I became overwhelmed with fear & frustration.

When the chaplain prayed with us in the front lobby of the hospital ( before the surgery), I released the negative emotions. God filled me with hope, peace, love & strength to face my surgical procedure.

After one open-heart & two pace maker surgeries plus coping with daily health challenges, I continue to lean on God for:everything.

Miracles happen every day because God is real. My life is living proof of his healing power. He receives all the honor & praise.

Reflections..

April 3, 2012

I would like to share the following message with anyone seeking encouragement today….

When we drove to the hospital ( 38 months ago), for my open heart surgery, I was afraid of what was getting ready to take place .

I had allot to think about, during the drive to the hospital : How long will I stay in the hospital, the time frame for my recovery period, coping with the transition etc..

I made up in my mind before the procedure, that I would pray to God for strength & courage to face the surgery. The hospital representative contacted the chaplain. He met us in the front lobby of the hospital & we began praying. After the prayer session, I’m happy to say that I was no longer afraid. For the first time , I began trusting God with my life: 100%.

After my procedure, someone asked me the following question: “ What are your plans?
my response: to share the good news about God’s healing power with the community & help cardiac patients & their families cope with the recovery process.

Mark 11:22-24 (NKJV)
22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Matthew 9:22 (NKJV)
22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hou
I know, without a doubt that God is a healer.

Despite whatever you may face: Never, never give up: your breakthrough is just around the corner.

Thanks for being part of my journey.

Have a beautiful day

Thankful For Another Day...

June 7, 2011

Hello. How are you?
When I look back over the past two years : Three surgeries, coping with health challenges on a daily basis and look at what’s happening now in my life: speaking at local health fairs & churches, writing a devotional book, visiting cardiac patients & their families at the hospital plus community service projects: I give God ALL the honor & praise. I faced life-changing experience (s) with the support from my loving husband, beautiful children, family/relatives, Pastor, Church Family, Medical Staff, Radical Love Family, wonderful neighbors & friends and will continue sharing my testimony with the community.
Seeking God: every day & focusing on my blessings instead of my daily health challenges, provides me with enough strength & courage to keep moving FORWARD: making a difference in the community.

Luke: Chapter 1: 37 NKJV
For nothing is impossible with God.

Why I Choose to Trust God with My Life?

Why I Choose to Trust God with My Life…

Hello. I hope all is well with you & your family.

Before my 3 surgeries, my faith level was ok.. but when I made a decision the morning of my heart valve replacement operation to REALLY trust God: 100% with my life that’s when the transformation began for
” MY JOURNEY”

Why I choose to trust God with my life?
a) God is true to his word.
b) He is loyal & faithful
c) He has ALL power in his hands
d) He continues to bless me: every day
e) He is healer, comforter, provider ,etc.

Matthew 9:21-22: NKJV

21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.

I thank God for what he has done for me in the past, for what is (currently) taking place in my life & the future plans God has in store for me.

Sharing Words of Encouragement: Despite whatever you may face on a daily basis: Never Give Up: keep pressing, pushing, hoping & BELIEVING. Nothing is too big for God.

Have a lovely weekend

Hebrews 11: 1-12. ( reference verses):
“The Faith To BELIEVE” ( January 19th, 2011 : Bible Study)
“FAITH is an act of obedience. Faith sways in the direction of God. Faith requires me to do what God requires of me. Remain consistent in things of God.”

“FAITH will cause you to please God. We go through certain things for the sake of others.”

“FAITH will cause you to prepare for the move of God. Focus on pleasing God, not man
( every day). Our FAITH in God makes us righteous.”

“We must be willing to take the first step: ACT OF FAITH.”

“When you’re obedient to God, he will bless you. God blesses you to be a blessing to others.”

“FAITH will cause you to believe God in an impossible situation.”

” Faith brings new found strength to conceive.”

“Faith gives birth to things beyond your ability”

“FAITH will cause you to suffer for a GREATER plan.”

“FAITH causes you to be consistent.”
