Warm greetings, My name is John Micsak and I am about to embark on the journey of aortic heart valve replacement . I am also the founder of the National Institute for Resiliency and Wellness and the Healing the Inside Child programs (healingtheinsidechild.com) where my program focuses on traumatic stress and its impact on the neuro-biology of children, adolescents and families. Interesting time for me, I do seminars around the country and I have recently been focusing on improving compassion and mindfulness with practitioners (doctors, teacher or therapists e.g.). I hope not to be hyper vigilant in my upcoming medical procedures, but I want remain aware and mindful. I already had a disturbing experience with how a Tee Test was administered on me, that perhaps I will share at a later date. I think your journal is a wonderful idea and so empowering for patients who may feel terribly vulnerable, confused and scared!
