So my 49 yo sister at this minute is in the ICU at Cleveland Clinic, they replaced three valves, CABG and pacer. She is all beat up but they are really caring for her great, my question is that-she is having a real hard time clearing her head, memory is bad, not much in the way of pain meds, is this normal, she is scaring me, maybe when she gets out of ICU her mental status will improve?

Has anyone needed 3 valves at one time, my sister is 49 years old, and was just told that rheumatic fever from the 1980's has resulted in three of her valves, all but the pulmonary valve, need to be replaced asap, does anyone have any guidance please? If given the the choice would Duke or Cleveland Clinic be best? Anyone in the group who needed three or four at one time, at such a young age? My email johngbrenner@gmail.com Thank You!
