I want to thank my son Tim for his updates during the surgery. My surgery was very successful but I had issues after. Tim told you I had some issues but he didn't tell you about the worst one. I had an alergic reaction to the heparin after the surgery and it knocked my platlets down so low I was delerious for several days. In fact I remember nothing for about 9 days. It took a long time for them to build back up. I ended up being in the hospital for 30 days. I became very depressed during that time. I am doing really good now and can finally talk about it. I just Praise God that he pulled me through all of it. I finally was able to start re-hab 3 weeks ago and am doing well there. Tomorrow will be 3 months since the surgery and I am finally really on the road back to a normal life. Again, I am sorry I didn't write sooner. Joan

Mom is improving with each day. There was in issue with her kidney function but that is also getting better. She's still very exausted but this too will improve with time. I think she'll be able to start writing here in the Journal in a couple days. We'll keep you posted. Tim
