Hi everyone,
Had my AVR on December 5, 2012. I'm sure many of you wonder what life will be like after having to undergo open heart surgery so I'd like to share a video my son presented to me at Christmas. Enjoy and please pass this on to others who may benefit from it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W35yFdessKY

One year ago this December 5th, my husband's life dramatically improved after successful aortic valve replacement surgery and the repair of an aortic aneurysm. We were shocked to learn last October that my physically fit, active husband's heart was failing due to calcification of a bicuspid heart valve and aortic aneurysm. Had it not been for his healthy lifestyle and the fact he paid attention to the warning signs, the results could have been grave. The very thought makes me numb. I have been married to this amazing man for 42 years and we have faced many challenges together but this was a big one.
The website, book and forum provided Jim with a wealth of information and gave him a detailed description of what he could expect, which lessened his anxiety . The information was invaluable and he would not have gotten through the surgery with the same level of confidence without Adam and the patient community. A sincere thank you from Jim's very grateful and blessed wife.
My high school sweetheart is as good as new and we're ready to celebrate his new birthday every 12-5 for many years to come.
We pray that everyone recovering from or facing upcoming surgery will have the same successful results.
"I love you, Jim and am so very proud of you!"
With Indescribable Gratitude,
Debbie Eyler
