Discharge is tomorrow morning! I don't like to bury the lead. Jim has been doing well in step-down, walking increasing distances and spending more time awake and in the chair. He even got to SHOWER, which was the highlight of the week for him, I think. Never mind that he... Read more.

The last chest tube has been removed, and we're now waiting the required two hours until he can transition down to the step down unit. We're told there is a bed available, so it's just a matter of time! He's tired, but there are glimpses of his smile and sense... Read more.

I arrived this morning at about 9, and he was sitting up in a chair with breakfast in front of him. And he was grumpy. Both are indicators of great progress! He did better moving from bed to chair, needing only one person to help, and being much less short... Read more.

You'll really know he's better when he starts complaining about not being discharged yet.
