Recovered well from Cardio Cath procedure. Met with my surgeon, Dr. Nan Wang at San Antonio Community Hospital in Upland CA. on 4-5-2012, scheduled for surgery May 29, 2012, going with the On-X valve option. Had a chest CAT-Scan and Ultra Sound of carotid arteries yesterday at the hospital. Gotta love that IV contrast they do...weird feeling.
Tests were to see if I could get the side entry procedure\"mini-sternotomy\" rather than the full carve. We\'ll see, should have results next week.
In between I\'ll be able to attend my daughter\'s graduation May 12, and hopefully squeeze in a fishing trip.
Then the recovery time starts. I will finish the book this weekend to start preparing. Thanks for listening.

I had a cardio CATH Monday 3-26-2012, I started noticing bruising on Friday, It seems to be lingering, purple color. Is that typical after surgery? I have Dr\'s appointment Wednesday, 4-5-2012, or should I call office tomorrow AM to check. No major pain as I was warned about, only a little tender is all. Reminds me of bruising I had after a vasectomy years ago.

36 + hours after the CATH procedure. Good report on arteries; no blockages, so no stints etc. were put in. Awaiting clearance for a walk tomorrow. Feeling okay. Doc said something about no heavy lifting until valve replacement is done.? I\'ll have a chance to ask about that at next week\'s appointment as I am hoping to postpone valve surgery until after daughter\'s graduation on May 12th.
I do understand the no heavy lifting until the plug and incision heal up where they inserted the CATH so I\'m not exerting myself at all right now. Thanks for the replies to first entry.
