This will be my last post. I am so very grateful for this website and the opportunity to express my continued progress since my surgery. I also so much appreciate all the posts and expressions of encouragement from everyone. I went back to my cardiologist last week and had another echo and visit. I am very encouraged as almost all the fluid around my heart is gone. I have not had any fevers in the last month, so there is no more inflammation and I feel wonderful. I have had a couple of admissions to the hospital in the last few months for acute bronchitis, but now I am completely off the prednisone, so I hope not to catch any more germs. I am very happy I had the surgery done and I feel so much better than I did before the surgery. All in all it has been a very positive experience even with all the setbacks. I am very grateful there are doctors out there that are able to repair the heart, and give us a chance for a longer life. Had another visit with the cardiologist and another echo cardiogram. Fluid is still there and I am still on prednisone. After Christmas I will be able to cut it down to 2.5 every other day. Will be going back again in Jan. for another visit. Hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year.

Just a note to let you know that I still have some fluid around the heart. After they lowered the prednisone to 2.5 mg I started having a low grade fever and aching all over again. It went away but now is back again. I have had it for the last week. I went to the cardiologist last Thursday, and he was surprised that I still had the fluid. He decided to run several blood tests to see if the inflamation is back. I sure hope not. Anyways I keep plugging along.
