4 weeks since AVR surgery. Feeling significantly better than 3 weeks ago. Breathing better than prior to surgery. Gaining energy by the day. Walking 20 minutes twice a day. Driving. Sleeping well. Next week starting 36 sessions of one hour each of cardio rehab. My faith has kept me strong. Good luck you all.

I had my AVR replacement surgery a week ago today. Spent two days in ICU and another three in a regular room. I am in good health for being 58 so I guess being healthy helps quite a bit. I took the time to research about my surgeon so I knew I was in good hands. I read Adam's book, and the rest I gave it to God. The surgery was a success and took a little less time than expected. I came home on Monday and started with the recovery plan. As per Adam's suggestion, I signed up for cardiac rehab and will start in a couple of weeks. My surgeon and cardiologists instructed me to get back to a (relative) normal life routine, including little things like getting dress everyday. I am so ver grateful for my family, friends, and the fantastic nurses staff at the Methodist Heart Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Be positive, stay hopeful, count your blessings, and pray.
