Venkat.....your schedule is the same as mine was when I went to CCF. I can tell you that you will feel a lot calmer after talking to Dr. Gillinov on Wednesday. He is full of confidence and compassion, and he will arrest most all of your fears. As they told me on the way to the operating room, " This is the biggest day of your life, but it's just another day at the office for all of us."
Somehow, that made me feel better! I will keep you in my prayers. Be strong.

You have yourself prepared and ready. Try not to stress too much as you will get thru this fine and will be recovering before you know it. You will be be amazed at how quickly you start to feel better.

Venkat...greetings to a fellow golfer. You appear to have the positive attitude that will help you alot in this journey. I had the same thoughts you have, just a couple months ago. I am amazed at how quickly I started to feel better. My recovery has gone great and I am sure yours will too. It is nothing to fear.

wish you safe and effective surgery and quick back to normal life. we are all concerned but optimistic.

I am also scheduled for mitral valve repair/replacement in a week. I am nervous, but getting mentally prepared. I wish you as well as all of us waiting an uneventful surgery and a comfortable recovery.

Hi Venkat,
I just had my mitral and tricuspid valves repaired by Dr. Gillinoc on October 20th, and I can tell you that the anxiety of thinking about it before surgery is way worse than the actual surgery. I was expecting the worst, and I can honestly say my pain was never more than a 3 or 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. I'm very happy to have it behind me, and in a few short weeks, you will be too.
