So glad to hear that you are about to go home. I'm sure sure your kitty Frances will be so glad to see you and you will be to see her. I just happened to check your photos to see if you put one up of her. I was amazed to see that she looks almost identical to my Rondo.
Sorry for the long journey and setbacks you had to go through. You were never alone because God's Spirit was always there as well as your family and friends and heart community friends. Just take it easy when you get home and don't be afraid to ask your closest friends/co-workers for help with things if you need it here and there.

I haven't forgot you though I have changed some things and took a break from my site for a while. I still checked in on you from time to time to see how you were doing. If you fell like reading another book,lol, check out my latest journal. It's kind of a little bit of my story with and about my kitty Rondo and some good things/blessings that have happened in my life recently.
Maybe I'll post a picture or two of Rondo some time soon.

You are going home! Yea! So it's been just over a month since your surgery! I bet you will enjoy sleeping in your own bed and just wandering around your home. I just finished organizing my mom's big 90th Birthday open house of 120 family and friends. Keeping using those weights and doing the upper body stretches. Those tube incisions are the worst. Its called shopping for new clothes. There is 2 problems with it thou. Number 1 is it cost money. and 2 trying to find something for people who aren't 21 years old. That's big challenge. But I am so happy you and Bossie are getting along good. Oh and keep those old jeans tucked out of sight. I lost a lot of weight too but put some of it back on darn,

Sounds like you're on the downside of this. It can be a tough surgery with tough complications, everyone is different. I had several myself, but I'm now a full 6 months post op and honestly people ask me how I am doing, and I'm like, "why are you asking" because I've FORGOTTEN!!!!
I'm so happy you're doing better, and for most of us, losing a little weight is not a bad thing.....

Did I tell you that when in hospital I was so high on prednisone that I saw a bunch of girl pigs with surgical cap and gowns, pink handbags and killer heels FLYING over my bed! It was wonderful! It must have been freaky to see real people hovering ova you - good that you dumped the fluid. It all sounds pretty good to me. Happy rehabbing!

Jim Jones was right about 3 schools of medicine, but Ernie medicine is closer to Western medicine, because it still mostly comes out of a bottle.

Great news! So glad you are back in rehab. I tell you the first month can be a ...bear, a real bear at times. The second month gets better. My best advice is to do everything you can, don't overdo it, be patient and be your own best friend. It is a real balancing act. A few times I overdid it and discovered a new "friend" - cardiac fatigue.

And hey, Ernie is providing medical advice I see. His advice has a few folks weighing in including our great friend across the pond.

Here are my thoughts. I have learned from my good friend Ernie that there are really three main schools of medicine - western, eastern and Ernie medicine. The great thing is that you can chose elements from all three. Whatever works, I say.

There is really not place like home so we pray you are there soon. But it sounds like you were in the place you needed to be for awhile. God does plan these things.
Looking back we can understand better than when we are living them. But you will continue to improve.

Linda H and Elsie posted a note for Susan that says: Susan I had water in my lungs also. They drained 2 litres out. It was just a little needle and a pinch ( their favorite word). It was done right at my bed and I could breath a whole lot better after that. They said it was very typical to have that happen after surgery. Oh I don't have a Dr George Clooney, but I named my heart pillow George Clooney. That way I could hug him all day long and I still do occasionally. Well hang in there soon you will be out grazing again with Bossie and Elsie. Hugs. :)

Gabi x posted a note for Susan that says: Hi Jeff, Pls tell Susan I had 600mls drained from my lung after heart failure. It was no biggie - Dr put a needle with a drain into my back at my bedside. I just had to keep very still, then it was all over. Anyway the fluid pills may empty it out and there will be no need for the drain. All the best to you both.
