Dear Sophie-
This is Jean Trausch. I just had my surgery last Tuesday. By the time the morning of surgery came around, I was ready to get it done and not too nervous or emotional, Whatever emotions you have, just remember that you'll be "fixed" in a matter of hours!
Tues. night thru Thurs. morning were rough due to nausea from meds, but once they straightened that out, I have been constantly improving and getting stronger. When it was rough, I just did what they told me to so that I would get better and it worked!
You will do great! I will be praying for you tomorrow and watching this week to see how you are progressing. God speed to you and your family. Love, Jean

Hi Sophie
Have been thinking a lot about you and Kim and Brian have kept me posted. Katie gave me this website of your journal ... what a great idea. Well, you seem to have a wealth of family and friends praying for you and wishing you well: please add Dom and I to that list. You're young and strong and I know you will do well. Have a good anesthesia nap ... as you drift off to sleep fly to your favorite place. No worries ..you'll do great. Love to you and g,a,a.

It is hard to believe that we live so close to each other and yet see each other so infrequently. In spite of the time that goes by or the birthdays that pass we have always considered you a dear friend. As such we have been thinking about you lately and wondering how things were going. This journal is great way to stay connected and a big thanks for sharing it with us. We will be tracking your progress and wish you the best on your upcoming surgery. The thoughts and prayers of our family will be with you and your family over the upcoming days. We are looking forward to tracking your speedy recovering!

Sophie, It seemed like it was just a few days ago when Dennis originally told me of your surgery. At that time I did not know the finalized date. I am sure the wait for you has been long. Things like this seem surreal until you finally admit, "Yep, here it comes". God seems to give us the hardest things to deal with sometimes. Dennis' mother, Grandma Floss, told me once that God only gave you those things that he knew you could handle. With your faith and your wonderful husband and girls, you have what is needed to handle this. You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts.
