Hey, Michael, this is Gil Kerr. I have been reading all of the updates and am so excited for you and your parents that everything is going so well. Though it took a while for me to figure out how to send you this message, I think this technology is a fantastic way for people to keep up with how you are doing. When you get all your strength back, we'll have to play some golf with your Dad and Walter. I was going to suggest that me and your Dad take on you and Walter, but you would probably kick our butts! I'm so glad to hear that Michael is "cruising" through the recover process. He is younger than most of us--I was 40 when I had my aortic valve replaced at Duke. The younger the patient the faster the recovery.

We do serve a great and awesome God that is able to do way more than we can ever imagine. I hope things continue to go well for everyone and don't get discouraged if there are bumps along the way. The bumps are just part of the process to healing.

Hi Michael: I have TOF as well and am getting a pulmonary valve at the end of June. Love your verse you just posted - I think I found a new favorite. Praying for you to recover quickly....looks like He's already been answering.

Michael, I am so glad to hear you came thorugh the surgery so well. I am a member of the Chancel Choir at First Bapitst downtown and we have had special prayer for you on two separate occasions - including last night. You can see your "choir family" on Channel 11 (cable) at 10:30 AM on Sunday mornings. We will continue to keep you in our prayers.

So… A mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a Harley, when he spotted a world-famous heart surgeon in his shop. The heart surgeon was waiting for the service manager to come take a look at his bike.

The mechanic shouted across the garage, “Hey Doc can I ask you a question?” The famous surgeon, a bit surprised, walked over to the mechanic working on the motorcycle.

The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, “So Doc, look at this engine. I also can open it up, take valves out, fix’em, put in new parts and when I finish this will work just like a new one. So how come I get a pittance and you get the really big money, when you and I are doing basically the same work?”

The surgeon paused, smiled and leaned over, and whispered to the mechanic, “Try doing it while it’s running.”
