Hey buddy - just thinking about you and read your updates. Not understanding the connection between the prostrate and the angiogram, but not sure I want to either.;) Give me a call when you have some downtime.

Hey John. I hate that you are in so much pain, but am glad that all went ok for you. We love you and are thinking of you. There are so many people who care about you. Try to see past the recovery knowing that because of the surgery, you will gain so much more time with Gavin and the ones you love.

Yeah ! That one is over and successful ! Hope it hurts less today .
I have these cards from Dr Wayne Dyer , The Power of Intention .. One is titled : Affirm Your Good Health ...and it says ....In any moment in which you're experiencing thoughts that make you feel sick or bad , do your best to change them to thoughts that support the idea of feeling good .Work to activate thoughts that predict recovery and overall well-being .

Hugs ,
Dona

John - I just stumbled upon your journal and it caught my eye becasue I too had Hodgkins in my early 20's. While I did not have a tumor by my heart, I did get radiation to the chest. I have always (pre-hodgkins) had a murmur - and was told the murmur was due to a bi-cuspid aortic valve. But - I am convinced that the raditaion made the valve calcify quicker, making me need the surgery much sooner than most with just the valve abnormality. A CT scan also showed calcification at the Arotic Root. I am now scheudled for surgery in Boston on April 7th for a valve replacement. I will have a heart cath the day before as well to make sure there is nothing else that needs to be done. I think that just now they are putting together the link with radiation to the chest and the effect on the Heart. But folks like us - had no choice. I wish you all the best! Good Luck! You will do wonderful.

Hi John,

Was just on and saw your posts. I am six months out from my AVR and actually feeling freakin great. Our situations are a little different, I came down with an infection in the valve which prompted mine. Anyways its not that bad. Try not to think about it too much and if I can be of any help feel free to reach out to me

And by the way, it is James. I had a St. Jude #23 put into the aortic position. Bi-leaflet and it works like a charm.
On February 16, 2011...
I had the aortic valve replaced over five years ago and I know it is not fun but it will certainly change how you feel. Always here to talk about it so keep me posted.

John,
Thanks fir the update, cuz. You know you have all the family and friends' collective support and prayers. You got this! Just channel that rocky (IV) training mentality and I am confident that no health ailment would want a piece of JT 2.0... I sure wouldn't .

Keep me posted, bud.

Sweetie,

My love and prayers are with you every day. I am impressed/shocked/proud that you are sharing, and in this capacity. The best part is, your sarcasm on the matter is fully intact. Welcome to the world of having unwanted foreign metal objects surgically placed your body...

I love you tons!

Hey JT. I totally understand how scary any heart surgery is, You are young and strong and will do well. You have already proven yourself to be a survivor. You will absolutely be in my thoughts, prayers, and in my already surgically altered heart. Lots of love to you!
