I've heard many excuses for not cooking a Thanksgiving turkey, but scheduling surgery tops the list!

I've just had my 2nd hip replacement on 15-Oct and I was teleworking 2 days after the surgery. Modern hospital treatment can do wonders. So be optimistic with your challenge and we'll see you back at the office in a couple weeks. (Chuck)

I still remember when you guys first came to Texas and the craziest thing happened! You became my best friend. And for years it was mostly us three. Now you have this huge loving support group. God defiantly had a plan for you. You have touched so many life's. My Mom adored you and said so many times she was so glad I had you in my life. You have always been there for me and Id do anything to step in your shoes and do this for you. But know Im praying for you and your never far from my thoughts. The waiting is really one of the hardest parts. Love you both thanks for putting this up so we can all keep up. Alicia

Debra, do your best to do only those things absolutely necessary and try to also get some rest. It will be better if you go into surgery as rested as possible. Thoughts and prayers with you this week. This is a hard time and after the surgery your priorities will be set for you and that keeps you focused and moving forward. I had my surgery on 10/23 (Aortic Valve Replacement and ascending aorta repair) and have really been pleased with the VERY low level of pain. Very tired a lot - way more than before surgery - but I can see progress each day..

Thoughts and prayers for a good week, a great surgery outcome and quick and full recovery!

Hi,
Think of the mechanical things breaking down as God's way of distracting you from the upcoming event and of reminding you that life goes on no matter what we have planned. I bet even if you didn't plan a surgery those appliances would have pooped out, things just happen. I know you are worrying about things you cannot control but remember God has it covered and He can control everything from the biggest to the smallest detail. Breathe, relax, pray and remember we all love you.

See you Tuesday, Cilly

I am glad you are doing a journal. A friend of my daughter has been battling cancer in her tonsils, necessitating both chemo and radiation. Her journey has been recorded in a journal like this because, frankly, often she didn't have the strength to discuss her treatments with friends and family, and we could track her progress through her journal status reports. Sometimes her husband had to make an entry for her.

I will be thinking of you and sending many prayers for a complete recovery. May you find yourself in even better physical condition than before your operation!

Love,
Sharon

I just wanted to remind you to breathe. While you are enjoying the Women of Faith conference, relax, pray and breathe. Once you return you can pick up this huge mantle again and surge ahead. Know we love you and are praying for you night and day. The right combination of doctors and care will be there when you need it, God has you in His hands.
Love you, Cilly

Hi Debra,
I read up on the surgery and what all is involved. I'm glad you choose the mechanical valve. It last years longer than the other options. Of course the drawback is the cummidin. But to every surgery there's a drawback. I told Harvey that's the choice I would've made. So, one thing down and on to the next. I pray God leads you to the right surgeon and you find yourself comfortable in his care. Life's a journey, and on that journey there are a lot of pot holes in the road. They jolt us but don't knock us off course if we are determined. Take care dear lady, and tell Pat we are praying for him too. Helen
