It feels a bit odd writing in my own wife's journal like this, since I can talk to her face-to-face, but what the heck. Debbie, I cannot imagine what you are going through dealing with this illness, but I know you are one of the strongest people I have known. I don't mind saying it has been filled with both fear and hope for me, and I am leaning heavily on the hope side of it. We made a promise to each other long ago that we were going to make everything work for us and grow old together. So far, the nearly 30 years of marriage plus the 3 years we were together before that have been the pride of my life. I know I can be difficult at times, but you usually get me back on track. I sometimes have a tough time letting you know how much I love you aside from just saying it. Just know that I am with you through this and anything else that gets in our way, and I am praying the whole ordeal goes smoothly and succeeds in giving us many more years together. I love you with all my heart.
