This note is from your cousin PatZublin in Harper Woods. I wrote the family history and you contributed. Do you still have a Westie? Alexis does not look like a Westie.
I have mitral valve stenosis but so far has not caused any big problems. Many women have this for some reason. Our prayers are with you because heart surgery is a serious business.

I hope that things are better this morning! I am thinking that your heart has been disfunctional for so long that it doesn't know what to do now that it has been fixed and is operating properly so we will pray that it calms down soon and gets used to proper function and the VT's cease! Hello Darlene (and Brad),

This is your mom's cousin Jerry Lou. Helene forwarded your journal to me, and I just read it. Wow, this is a lot more involved than I thought. My cardiologist did tell me that they no longer had to open the chest, so that is a good thing.

I have had a leaky mitral valve for some time, but it is still not serious enough to require an operation (and at 76 years old it may never be necessary).

I am so glad that your surgery is over and done with. Hope you have a speedy recovery and great results for a healthy future.

Helene and I started plans for a "cuzzin" reunion a few weeks back, and tomorrow six of us will meet at an Olive Garden in Warren for lunch and some conversation. It is too bad that it took us this long to do this, but better late than never. Hope I recognize everyone.

Awesome. Happy for you both for everything except for losing the "pain pump"... Thinkin' you might have held onto that bad boy a little longer... Just saying'... Then again, I'm a guy, so likely would held onto until at least April.

Dear Darlene,

Glad to hear you are doing so well. You'll be out of step down before you know it, hang in there. So much to experience and learn there, as I recall.

I remember how the first walks were a big deal with my walker, and then the next day, it was, "You need take 4 walks today", or was it 6 walks?...I was getting up early, and taking a couple of walks before breakfast to get them all in, with all of the blood draws, and people coming and going, measuring, and note taking...I was a busy gal in the step down.

You'll be out in the big world soon, my husband and I took little walks to the millions of Starbucks everywhere at the Mayo, and got decaf soy iced lattes, an incentive for my walks outside the hospital. You'll get there soon.

You probably won't read this until after your surgery.......Awesome job! Now that the hard part is over, I thought you could use a good laugh. I walked pass your office for the past 3 days and the door was open. I felt so much love flowing in the atmosphere. The funny part was that I didn't see you looking at the wall like your were talking to yourself. LOL
We're expecting you back so don't get too comfortable with being away from this awesome team of yours. LOL
