Great news. Navigating the CA road system when you're not post op is quite an accomplishment and you did it. No turning back now with your recovery!! You are an amazing lady, God bless you.

What wonderful news about rehab. Reading Adam's book on the rehab section he points out how beneficial it is, and apparently you agree. Did they ever find the source of your bleeding? Can't remember what the end result was. Continue to do well. You are one of my favorite people. Thank God Adam brought us all together.

The rehab sounds like it is exactly what is now needed and will help you to know just what you can do and build you confidence.
Quite an adventure you have been having.

Hi Bev,
Long time since I have written you. I am sooo glad to hear that your recovery is progressing so well. You are a strong, courageous, faithful lady and I love you!

I am letting my emotions carry me along a road that is rather fragile now. I have learned to allow my feelings to show so that is why I am telling you.

Our last day together with Rex - in Orange County - was yesterday. My wishes for a separation over the past 6 months has come to a reality. He is moving to Redmond, Oregon. He will always be a " best friend". I will visit him and he will visit me. It is going to be best for both of us. But "breaking up is hard to do".

Love,

Adeline

Good Morning Beverly
Thanks for the good news update. How do your dogs feel about a dog walker instead of their "mommy"? My daughter has 2 rescued greyhounds and one of them is very attached to her. He "cries" for her when she leaves for work and looks out the window for every vehicle sound he hears when it's about time for her to return home.Pets are wonderful companions, aren't they? Continue to do well, you are an inspiration to those of us who are still recovering.

Isn't it interesting that during an earthquake we remember exactly where we were and what we were doing!! Had a lovely Easter and a good visit with LaVerne. So quiet after she's gone. Enjoy the gorgeous weather and remember Type A's have a tough time slowing down but SLOW DOWN. Love ya, Irene

Another lesson learned. Do not go out alone with Lucky. Always take your cell phone with you. So glad to hear your healing stories. Love, Adeline
On April 5, 2010...
Hi Bev,

It took us a bit to realize we were having an earthquake yesterday. Clyde was out on the back porch reading, and he thought our workmen had done something to the porch to make it unstable. We had to replace the railing last week, because of dry rot, and things were moving! He looked up and saw the water sloshing out of the pool and realized it was a quake. I was standing in the kitchen (as usual), and it took me a minute to connect, too. I'm glad you came through without damage or injury.

It sounds nice to hear you are able to get out and walk. Hope to see you soon.

Love,

Janet

The Little Engine That Could....but not quite yet :-). Glad that you find a realistic perspective to what you can and cannot quite yet accomplish.
It was quite wonderful to see and be with you yesterday. The breakfast club is once again complete.
You will however need to work on your paper straw cover blowing technique.
Love to you dear lady. Nancy Kent

Hi, Bev,
I am home again - had a rigorous week in DC -and I loved every minute. It is good to crawl into my own bed, though. I had a quiet Easter with Cathy and Bella - I even did my laundry. So happy to hear your healing news and your OK to drive again! Freedom at last!

Hi Bev,
Boy, you certainly are a lady of determination. I can't believe how well you are coming along.
You have had lots of good wishes sent your way from the folks at OLLI-CSUF.
Remember that I am not that far away if you need a ride to the doctor or a trip to the store.

Dear Bev,
What a wonderful idea this journal has been for those of us not so much in the know. With your drive, optimism, verve for life and large and loving circle of friends, I've always felt you would make a remarkabe recovery. I once offered my assistance if I could do anything and would like to repeat it once again. I am fully ambulatory now and drive around the county, so I'm available. As hard as it is, listen to your body and your doctor's timetable. Fondly, Marilyn Halamandaris

Bevery, so great to hear you are doing so well. Not having to go back to see the wonderful surgeon Dr. cunningham (that name, by the way, Dr. Cunningham, was the doctor's name that delivered by brother many years back)I always remember the name, my mom thought he was wonderful too.
Nice to have your home care attendent - that made a big difference for Richard to have his visiting nurse come every day for a while - it is comforting and I hate to say, but we/he looked forward to it for a while and then it was further liberating when he no longer needed her.
Keep up the good work, I bet you look great!
