I will be going up to Mayo on the 24th for my angiogram and other tests. They have been monitoring my heart for 5 years. Hopefully I will finally have the surgery in Oct. and get it over with!

I have been trying to get the fluid off but now I'm thinking I'm not drinking enough fluids and my body refuses to let go. So today my husband has orders to make me drink all day. And some of those pills are extremely harsh on my stomach so we are spreading them out more and making sure I have plenty of food in my stomach. This is not easy when my appetite is so poor. But we persevere! And God is still holding me in his hands! And you. Have a good day.

I just had to pace myself in the mornings and drank plenty of water with my breakfast. I didn't head to the shower right away but waited a while. It did eventually pass and I don't have problems now. Chris K posted a note for Aubrey that says: Thanks for the updates. I am three-weeks post surgery and can confirm that the first few days are the toughest--especially painful to get in and out of bed! It is important to take those pain meds!
I appreciate the pictures. I asked my hubby to get some of me right after the surgery, but he didn't feel comfortable doing it. So many tubes and wires and machines! Scary but reassuring that everything is being carefully monitored!

I live in Plymouth Indiana and was referred to St. Vincent on 86th. My surgeon was Dr. Robert Robison with the Corvasc group. I was referred there last summer for surgery to repair a torn mitral valve at age 49. I received the best care and hope that you do as well! In a few days you will be feeling better, it will take a while to get your strength back but it will come! They will probably be getting you up to walk tomorrow, don't be surprised! I was there for 8 days, my surgery was August 23, 2012. I just celebrated one year of better living! I wish you all the best in your recovery process! I'll check back to see how you progress!

You will do great. I had my stenotic aortic valve replaced 3 weeks ago today. I am 61 and other than the calcified bicuspid valve am in excellent health.
I am walking outside 4x a day and some walks are 26 minutes. I get in and out of chairs and beds easily. I must say that sleeping has not been easy and we borrowed a recliner from a friend and also bought a foam wedge for the bed. Both have added my ability to sleep.
