Here I am on October 6th, sitting at Starbucks trying to imagine what is going to take place on the 16th. Just tonight my roommate ask me the serious, almost forbidden question, what if I don't come out of surgery? Although I try not to think of such things, I simply told him that if I didn't survive the surgery, then my life was complete.
I have very strong faith in Christ and God and fully believe everything will be ok. I am writing a memoir about my life in how I've come to terms with being gay/being a Christian. I know God has a plan for my writing. I have a lot to accomplish in life and refuse to believe that my life will be over at 54.
As I sit here on this Monday night, I am listening to Twila Paris sing, Fill my heart. What a beautiful song.I am weak, and I need your grace, she sings. You are the only life, you are the way of life, fill my heart, fill this house, fill this day, Oh Lord.
Fill my heart, fill this house, fill this day, O Lord. I am yours, I will give you praise. You are the only truth, and I will follow you. Fill my heart, fill this house, fill this day, O Lord.
The more I live I know, I need you more than ever so, please come and fill this open room inside of me.
I want my faith to be strong that I can reach out and touch the Master's hand. I want to sense His grace so strong that I can reach out and touch it.
By faith, I see this surgery as a success.

Debbie Mullin Wishing the very best for you, Don. A friend told me several days before my surgery (about 4 weeks ago)..."If all goes well and you wake up, great! If not, you wake up in heaven! What could be better?" I went into the surgery with positive thoughts, came out of it with positive thoughts, and am doing well :) I pray that you will do the same! God's not done with either of us yet....we have things to do! God bless.
